From a simple conversation with my father (Santo aka Sam), to discussions with other relatives, we now have a great trip planned to visit Trentino-Alto Adige. Joining Santo (91yrs) and I (let's just say the youngest of our main group) are Irene and Will (both 81), Will's cousin, Agnes (87), and Gino and Ada (80 and 76).
Will goes back and forth to Italy several times a year as he loves his town Fai della Paganella. It is indeed a beautiful, serene place high in the Dolomitis. Agnes, his cousin, has never been to Italy and wants to see the town where her parents were born. Ada was only four years old when she left Cavedago to come to America. She is excited to visit the place of her birth. Gino, the only non Tyrolian, but still Italian, is coming along for the tour.
Now my dilemma was where will we stay and how will we get there. With one phone call our problems were solved. Irene and Will's nephew, own a ski chalet in Fai. Ski season ends May 15th and the hotel closes. We arrive on the 17th and the hotel will be available for just our group! They even have a van and driver for us!
There is a possibility that our group will grow. My brother and his wife are thinking of joining us as are Irene and Will's youngest son, William and his family who now live in Dubai!
